About Skills Development
The VIP Skills Development Module provides fundamental guidelines relating to all aspects of Skills Development that are required in terms of South African legislation.
This module provides step-by-step procedures for the successful implementation of a Skills Development programme in your company, the development of a Workplace Skills Plan, as well as the printing of all Statutory Skills Development Reports. Various Skills Management Reports which provide assistance with the entire Skills Planning and Monitoring Process can also be printed.
The VIP Skills Development Module is fully integrated with the rest of the VIP products and contains complete employee details that are essential for the effective management of Skills Development.

- Defining Skills, Strategic and Training Priorities,
- Recording all details of Training Interventions,
- Aligning Training Interventions to specific Skills needed,
- Linking employees to different Skills Groups which allows for easy planning,
- Monitoring Planned and Attended Training on employee as well as company level,
- Defining Workplace Skills Plans,
- Generating Skills Plans, and
- Printing Statutory Skills Reports.
- Printing Seta Specific Reports directly from the system.

The Employee Skills Screen contains comprehensive employee details that are essential for Skills reporting.
- Fields on this screen include: Gender, disabled employees and the nature of the disability, Type of Employment, the NQF Level of the employee, Skills Group, Occupational Category & Occupational Level, as well as whether the employee is an apprentice/learner.
- Workplaces may be defined per employee.
- Fields can be based on existing Payroll data fields such as Job Grades, Job Titles, Departments, Pay Points, Categories, etc. to ensure no duplication of information.

Training intervention details are required for SETA reporting and include:
- Details of Learnerships and Recognition for Prior Learning,
- NQF Levels,
- Unit Standard Information,
- Number of Credits required, etc.

The following statutory reports can be printed, namely:
- Proposed Beneficiaries for Training (Workplace Skills Plan Report),
- Annual Skills Priorities Report,
- Training programs provided,
- Workforce Profiles Report (including Recruitments and Terminations),
- Summary and Detailed Training Schedules Reports,
- Training Costs Report.
- Seta Specific Reports may be generated from the system.

From the VIP Main Menu:
- Click on Skills.
- Click on the required Skills Menu Option.
